Schedule Pinterest pins from Notion

Write each pin as a row in your Notion calendar, set the time, and switch Status to Scheduled. Creatorzel posts it to Pinterest and writes the pin's link back into the row.

Free to start.

Try it. Change the title, pick a status, then skip ahead to the post time.

From Notion row to Pinterest pin

Set it up once. After that, every pin is a row.

  1. 1

    Connect Notion and Pinterest

Sign in, choose the Notion page Creatorzel may use, and log in on Pinterest's own screen. Creatorzel builds the calendar for you, so there's nothing to duplicate and no columns to set up.

  2. 2

Write a row for each pin

Add a title, a board, an image or video, and a link. Write the description in the row's page, the way you'd write any Notion page.

  3. 3

Set the time, then Status to Scheduled

Creatorzel checks the calendar about every five minutes and posts what's due. The row switches to Published and keeps the pin's link.

What each column does

Every pin uses the same calendar columns. This is what Creatorzel reads from each one.

Title

Up to 100 characters, which is Pinterest's limit. Leave it empty and the row's name becomes the title.

Description

Write it in the row's page, up to 500 characters. If the page is empty, the row's name is used.

Board

Type the board's name as it appears on Pinterest. Capitals don't matter. Leave it empty and Creatorzel uses your first board, so it's worth filling in.

Media

One image, two to five images (posted as a carousel) or one MP4 video. Upload them to the row or paste links. Extra files beyond that are skipped.

Link

Where the pin takes people when they click it. It has to start with https://.

Scheduled At

The date and time you want the pin posted. Creatorzel posts it on its first check after that moment.

Status

Draft, Scheduled, Published or Failed. You choose Draft or Scheduled. Creatorzel sets the other two.

Published URL and Error

When a pin goes live, its link is written to Published URL. If something goes wrong, the Error column says what, in plain words.

Account

Connected more than one Pinterest account? Type the account's name here to choose which one posts. Empty means your primary account.

Section

Optional. Type the name of a section inside the board to post into it. Leave it empty to post to the board itself.

Alt Text

Optional. A short description of the image for people who can't see it, up to 500 characters.

Impressions, Saves and clicks

Filled in by Creatorzel once Pinterest has reported on the pin, usually a day or two after it goes live, then refreshed about once a day for 30 days: Impressions, Saves, Pin Clicks and Link Clicks.

If a pin can't go out, the row tells you why

Before anything is sent, Creatorzel checks the row. A title over 100 characters, a missing image or a link that doesn't start with https:// is caught first, and nothing is posted.

The row turns Failed and the Error column says what to change. Fix it, set Status back to Scheduled, and Creatorzel tries again on its next check.

A pin that has already gone out isn't posted twice, unless you duplicate the row.

Failed

Error

The Pinterest title is 114 characters; the limit is 100. Set a shorter Title.

This is the kind of note Creatorzel writes into the Error column.

The limits, up front

Nothing here should surprise you later.

5 minutes

Between checks

Creatorzel looks for due rows about every five minutes, so a pin goes out soon after its time.

100 characters

Title limit

That's Pinterest's limit. A longer title is stopped before sending.

500 characters

Description limit

Longer descriptions are stopped before sending too, with a note in Error.

5 images

Images per pin

Two to five images make a carousel. A video pin takes one video.

For comparison, Pinterest's own scheduler lets you queue up to 10 pins, one at a time, up to 30 days ahead (Pinterest's help page (opens in a new tab)). A Notion calendar can hold your whole month.

Pinterest managers and VAs

You already plan client pins on a calendar. Keep it in Notion, name the account on each row, and stop pasting pins into Pinterest one at a time.

Bloggers who get traffic from Pinterest

Plan the pins for a post right next to the post. Set the times once and let them go out while you write the next one.

Questions people ask

Can you schedule Pinterest pins from Notion?

Yes, with Creatorzel. Notion can hold your pin plan but doesn't post to Pinterest on its own. Creatorzel adds a content calendar to your Notion workspace, picks up the rows that are due, and posts them to your Pinterest account.

Do I have to give Creatorzel my Pinterest password?

No. You log in on Pinterest's own screen and approve access there, so Creatorzel never sees your password. You can disconnect the account inside Creatorzel whenever you like.

How exact is the posting time?

Creatorzel checks your calendar about every five minutes. A pin goes out on the first check after the time you set, so expect it within roughly five minutes of that time.

What happens if a pin fails to post?

The row's Status changes to Failed and the Error column explains the reason in plain words, for example a title that is too long. Fix it, set Status back to Scheduled, and Creatorzel tries again.

Will a pin ever be posted twice?

Not from the same row. Once a row has been posted it isn't posted again unless you duplicate it. If an attempt is interrupted and Creatorzel can't tell whether the pin went out, it marks the row Failed and asks you to check Pinterest first.

Can I edit a pin from Notion after it has been posted?

No. Creatorzel posts a pin once, and changing the row in Notion afterwards does not change the pin on Pinterest. Pinterest keeps pin editing for apps through a separate approval, so for now you edit a posted pin on Pinterest itself.

Which images and videos can I use?

Use JPG or PNG for images and MP4 for video. A row can hold one image, two to five images (posted as one carousel pin) or one video. If a row holds more than that, the extra files are skipped and the Published row says so. Pinterest recommends a 2:3 ratio for images, such as 1000 by 1500 pixels.

Can I see how my pins perform?

Yes. Pinterest takes a day or two to report on a new pin. After that, columns for Impressions, Saves, Pin Clicks and Link Clicks appear on its row and refresh about once a day for the first 30 days. The numbers come from Pinterest, so a quiet account may show small ones.

Can I post to a board section and add alt text?

Yes. Type a section's name in the Section column to post into that section of the board, and write a short description of the image in the Alt Text column. Both are optional.

Can I use more than one Pinterest account?

Yes, if your plan allows it. Connect each account, then type the account's name in the Account column to choose which one a row posts from. An empty Account column uses your primary account.

Is Creatorzel free?

You can start for free. The plans, and what each one includes, are shown in the app after you sign up.

Does Creatorzel work with platforms other than Pinterest?

Pinterest is the only platform today. WordPress is next, and the WordPress page says where that stands.
